Theatre Application
The purpose of this application is to introduce yourself to our playwright grantees and provide information about why your theatre would be a great host for their work. Please think about the following questions as if you were talking to a playwright:
Question 1: Please tell us about the kinds of work your theatre produces. What is the size and scope of your work? Are there any specialties your theatre is well-suited for (e.g. puppetry, musicals, film/virtual work, movement, devised, immersive, etc)? [Limit: 1 page]
Question 2: Seven of the Grantee projects are looking to find a host theatre company:
- Heart Strings by Lee Cataluna
- jelly beans by Christin Cato
- ZEQ by Ramón Esquivel
- DragonSoul Offline by Samantha Miller
- ¡Lotería: Game On! by Mabelle Reynoso
- Capture the Flag by Doug Robinson
- Kaleidoscope Crown by Ashleigh Akilah Rucker
Please let us know which 3 projects might be a great fit for your company. Why do you think so? [Limit: 1 page]
Question 3: Please tell us about your theatre’s work culture. How does your theatre create a welcoming and inviting culture for BIPOC artists to create work and thrive? What work has your company done specifically over the past year to foster anti-racism? (Please include your theatre’s current commitment to anti-racism work, any EDI or anti-racism training among staff, the current level of BIPOC representation among staff, BIPOC artists who have relationships with your theatre, and anything else that may be relevant to how you host BIPOC artists at your theatre.). [Limit: 1 page]
Question 4: Why do you want to develop/produce new work for young people? Have you developed TYA works in the past and if so what projects? [Limit: 1 page]
Question 5: Please tell us more about the young people you engage with or with whom you want to engage. [Limit: 1 page]
Question 6: What resources/opportunities does your organization offer artists creating during social distancing? (Resources including technical capacity for virtual work, sound and lighting, filming, etc.) [Limit: 1 page]
