This has been an unusual year in many, many ways. We have changed how we live, learn and play, how we connect with each other and how we understand each other and our society. Childsplay and Write Now want to hear from young people about the moments and memories that you will take away from this experience — your story might be chosen to be published or performed!
How can I tell my story?
Stories may be submitted in writing, but can also be submitted as audio or video clips, or even artwork…whatever is the easiest way for you to tell a story. Sometimes it helps to have someone ask you questions — feel free to have someone interview you and record it on your phone or computer. Click here for some helpful interview questions.
Submissions will be accepted in the following formats (please pick ONE):
- Written submissions — .doc, .docx, .pdf
- Audio submissions (maximum 10 minutes) — .mp3
- Video submissions (maximum 10 minutes) — .mp4, .mov
- Artwork — .jpeg, .png, .pdf

What happens to my story after it is submitted?
We will select up to 40 stories and the storytellers will be paired with professional playwrights who will turn their story into a monologue or short scene. Selected stories will be published in an anthology of monologues and scenes for young performers and you will be a published author!
We may also work with your teacher to create a sharing of stories with your school, or we may create a wider story sharing event for the community. We are also working on a digital archive for all of your stories. More information is coming soon!
All submissions will be kept in a password protected location by Childsplay and will only be shared in public (outside of a school setting) with the written permission of the author and their parent/guardian.
